Donna demystifies charts by showing you how twisted and traveling stitches are notated. You'll also work twisted knit stitches and twisted purl stitches on swatches -- a great way to build your foundation for stunning patternwork.
Follow along with Donna as she shows how to move stitches over each other on the needle, making knit-over-knit twists and knit-over-purl twists. These maneuvers create the texture and graceful lines that are characteristic of this timeless knitting style.
In Bavarian twisted-stitch knitting, you're not limited to moving stitches over just one stitch. Donna shows you how to make wider stitch maneuvers, moving two knits over two knits or over one purl to expand the possibilities for your patterns and projects. Then follow along as Donna shows several ways to fix mistakes in your twisted-stitch knitting.
Donna introduces even bigger possibilities by demonstrating some complex stitch maneuvers step by approachable step. You'll see how to read charts for these maneuvers and learn more about using twisted-stitch techniques on a piece that's knit flat.
Learn to add traditional Tyrolean-style embroidery embellishments for the featured hat. Then, follow along for help weaving in the ends of this stretchy knitting style and blocking your work to keep its shape and texture.
