Description

The cable bind off is perfect for any piece that uses the cable cast on method at the start of the project. In this video, Jen Lucas demonstrates how to work the cable bind off. The cable bind off is a wonderful way to end your knitting project and it complements the cable cast on method very well. It’s not an exact match for the cast on, but it creates a similar look and similar sturdiness.

Work the cable bind off using these steps:

1. Knit 1 stitch.
2. Knit another stitch – 2 stitches are on the right needle.
3. Pass the first stitch over the second stitch.
4. Slip the stitch from the right needle to the left needle through the front loop, creating a twist.
5. Slip the stitch back to the right needle through the back loop, creating another twist.
6. Knit 1 stitch – 2 stitches are on the right needle.
7. Pass the first stitch over the second stitch.

Repeat Steps 4 – 7 until all stitches have been bound off and one stitch remains. Cut yarn and pull the end through the loop to fasten off your project.
