In this session, our expert wildlife photographers are in the Venice Rookery, covering how to best setup for an extended photo session. Many people are inclined to set up and look directly towards the center of an island, bend, or other area of landscape. The problem with this is the final photograph will look cluttered. With the brush, trees, and other greenery, there is no separation between foreground and background.
Instead, focus on the fringes for definitive separation. Not only is spotting wildlife on the edges of land where it comes in contact with water easier, but it proves to be a more visually interesting photograph as well.
