Photographing Wildlife in the South Santee Marsh

Doug Gardner
Duration:   11  mins

The South Santee Marsh in South Carolina is an ideal location for photographing waterfowl. In this video, pro wildlife photographer Doug Gardner takes you there to capture creative images of birds.

You will learn the importance of good cover and why you need sunlight behind you or to the side. You will also learn why wind direction is important because birds land and take off into the wind. Doug will show you how to capture birds in flight and as they paddle on the water, and also why it’s ideal to keep your lens eye-level to the bird. To capture close-ups, he uses a 500mm lens with a 1.4 converter.

Join pro Doug Gardner for what you need to know in order to capture memorable waterfowl pictures.
