Photographing Outdoor Stock Shots

Adam Barker
Duration:   6  mins

Description

Stock shots are used repeatedly for publishing purposes, magazines, brochures, and more. For professional photographers, the stock shot is a good source of income. In this video, outdoor photographer Adam Barker takes you to Utah’s Provo River and shoots stock shots of a fly fisherman.

Adam frames the fisherman knee-deep in the river. With his 300mm lens, he cranks off rapid exposures at high shutter speeds as the fisherman casts his line. Setting up in different positions, he keeps his subject in side profile to accent the backlighting and shoots in both horizontal and vertical formats.
