Photographic Composition in Ruins

Kylee Leonetti
Duration:   3  mins

Description

Photographic composition is the key to making great images. In this video, pro photographer Kylee Leonetti shows you composition techniques in composing ruins.

You will learn how to document the whole scene from all angles, for instance, an old overgrown building. As you move in tighter, you’ll want to include the interaction between nature and ruins such as moss growing on a roofline. Kylee also suggests shooting close-ups of scrap metal in the grass, a flower along a stone wall, a broken window and a rusted pipe joint. For tall, imposing structures, get low with your wide-angle lens to add drama.
