Capturing Photos at Dusk

Adam Barker
Duration:   3  mins

Description

Dusk is a wonderful time of day to shoot landscapes. In this video, outdoor photographer Adam Barker shows you how to handle the light of dusk.

He travels to a mountain lake in Utah and sets up to photograph rows of aspen trees. In the soft dusky light, he frames the evenly spaced trees through a telephoto lens with a warming polarizer filter. For coverage, he looks for uniformity in composition, and he shoots different parts of the aspen grove through long exposures. He also looks for tree trunks that stand out and provide a visual anchor.

Join professional shooter Adam Barker for tips on capturing memorable images at dusk.
