Alternating Interrupted Rib Pattern
Jen LucasDescription
The Alternating Interrupted Rib stitch pattern is a variation on the traditional Interrupted Rib stitch pattern. This stitch pattern offsets the ribbing pattern, adding a little more interest and texture to your knitting project. It’s the perfect pattern to use for knitted baby blankets and scarves. In this video, Jen Lucas demonstrates how to work this stitch pattern.
To begin, Jen compares this stitch pattern with the conventional Interrupted Rib stitch pattern, showing both the Right Side and Wrong Side of the swatches. She notes that the ribbing sections are offset in the alternating interrupted rib stitch pattern.
ALTERNATING INTERRUPTED RIB STITCH PATTERN

- Row 2 (WS): *K1, p1; rep from * to last stitch, k1.
- Row 3: Purl all stitches.

- Row 5: *K1, p1; rep from * to last stitch, k1.
- Row 6: *P1, k1; rep from * to last stitch, p1.
