Meet your instructor, Steffani Lincecum, and get started learning about sewing machine feet.
Most sewing machines come with a standard zipper foot. Learn how to use yours, then meet the invisible zipper foot and the buttonhole foot. They can make sewing closures quick and easy instead of daunting.
There can be more to sewing a hem than turning up the edge and sewing straight across. If you don't want that hem stitching to show on your fashion fabric, you can use the blind hem foot instead of hand-stitching. Meanwhile, delicate fabric looks great with a rolled hem - and the rolled hem foot is just the ticket.
Are you a quilter? You might want to invest in a quarter-inch guide foot so you always have precise seam allowances in your piecing. Or maybe you like working with tricky fabrics such as leather, vinyl, suede, velvet or satin. The roller foot will keep your project moving smoothly under the needle.
Steffani demonstrates some fun feet that you can use in quilting or embellishing your sewing projects. The darning or free-motion foot allows you to quilt or sew in a freestyle manner, or use it to add some lace. If you want to use couching or braiding in your work, there's a foot for that. And gathering? That's a great tool to use for adding ruffles or pleats. Steffani will show you how!
