In this first session Heather will walk through the technique, show samples of a quilt, computer clutch and checkbook cover and will discuss fabric selection and other supplies needed.
Heather goes through the process of selecting the fabrics to be used and rips them into various sizes and shapes. She will then layer up the backing, batting and iron-on adhesives to prepare for the decorative layer and quilting.
Heather will position all of the fabrics for the surface of the design and iron them in place. Then she will add any decorative additions such as swirls, borders etc to complete the look.
Heather discusses all things related to quilting the surface including thread selection, foot selection and needle selection. She will begin stitching, change stitch designs often and show how she changes thread colors as desired for a unique look.
In this final session Heather will make all of the final touches. She will trim up the quilted fabric as needed, stitch on any embellishments and finally sew the clutch together. Heather will also share a few other projects and discuss how they were made.
